Information We Collect

To provide matching services, Fling collects data you directly provide, data generated when using our app, and device information:

Profile & Registration Details: Includes name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship goals, lifestyle preferences, bio text, and uploaded profile photos.
Chat Messages & Media: Messages, voice notes, reaction emojis, and media sent between matched profiles are stored securely to allow seamless chat syncing across devices.
Verification Selfie Data: If you opt to receive a Verified Badge, we process facial geometry data from video selfies to verify profile authenticity and eliminate bots.

Location & Geolocation Data

Fling is a location-driven dating platform. Distance calculations are essential to connecting you with nearby users:

    ">Precise Geolocation: With your permission, we process precise GPS coordinates and Wi-Fi access point data to display nearby match candidates. ">Background Location: If explicitly authorized in your device settings, location updates may be collected in the background to refresh nearby discovery stacks while traveling. ">Distance Privacy Protection: Your exact GPS coordinates or street address are never shown to other members. Profiles display only relative radial distance (e.g., "Within 5 miles").

Matching Algorithms & Data Usage

We process your profile inputs and interaction history to curate your personalized discovery feed:

    ">Match Personalization: Swiping actions (likes, passes, super-flings), interest tags, active times, and age/distance filters are computed to prioritize relevant profiles. ">Service Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifying data is analyzed to improve app speed, server response times, and feature design. ">No Advertising Sales: Fling does not rent, license, or sell user profile vectors to third-party ad brokers.

Safety, Security & Automated Moderation

Maintaining a respectful, safe community is paramount:

Automated Safety Scanning

We deploy automated machine-learning classifiers to scan chat messages and images for severe violations including illegal activity, graphic nudity, commercial solicitations, harassment, and financial scam URLs.

User reports submitted via the "Report Profile" button immediately queue the flagged conversation for human review by our Trust & Safety Moderation Officers.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We disclose personal information strictly under limited operational circumstances:

    ">Service Providers: Cloud infrastructure hosts (e.g., AWS), customer support ticketing engines, and SMS authentication providers operating under strict confidentiality agreements. User Privacy Controls & Visibility

Fling gives you in-app controls to restrict your public footprint:

Incognito Mode

Only profiles you have explicitly "Liked" will be able to see your card in their stack.

Snooze / Pause Mode

Temporarily hide your profile from new discovery while retaining active matches and chats.

Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep your personal information only as long as your account remains active. Upon initiating Account Deletion in app settings, your profile, photos, matches, and chat history are permanently purged from active databases within 30 days.
